How do you tell your employer you're having IVF?

There is no legal obligation to tell a UK employer you are having IVF, and no statutory right to fertility treatment leave. In practice, telling one trusted person — usually your line manager or HR — makes short-notice appointments far easier, and once you are pregnant after a transfer you gain full pregnancy-related protection under the Equality Act.
