Fresh transfer
An embryo transfer carried out in the same cycle as the egg collection, without freezing the embryo first.

It's when the embryo is transferred back a few days after egg collection, in the same cycle, rather than being frozen for later.
Why it matters
Some cycles are better suited to freezing all embryos and transferring later, for example if hormone levels or OHSS risk make the womb lining less receptive.
